Crytek today announced the next era of its CryEngine game development tools Xbox One

GameNTrade.com news

Crytek today announced the next era of its CryEngine game development tools, but it's not called the CryEngine 4.

The Crysis and Ryse: Son of Rome studio said the engine will no longer be identified by version numbers, due to the game engine evolving over time with new updates and upgrades.
Instead, the engine will be known simply as CryEngine going forward. Crytek also announced today that its Engine Licensing and Research & Development teams have come together in an effort to "double the level of one-to-one care" that game licensees can tap into.
This is "in essence offering Crytek's R&D as a service for developers using the new CryEngine," Crytek said.

The new CryEngine supports development on current-generation consoles; Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U, as well as PC and "further platforms" to be added in the future.

"Since CryEngine 3 was launched in 2009, we've dramatically changed the engine so many times, with so many major new features, it’s not the same engine anymore," Crytek business development director Carl Jones said in a statement.

Ryse: Son of Rome launches this November on Xbox One.

Trade Prices and happy gaming customers

At GameNTrade.com we often like to tell everyone about our awesome trade values and how we are the best when it comes to used video games. Over the weekend we put our system to the test and pleased yet another customer as we offered him a large amount more than what he expected.

Yui S. of Granada Hills CA came to us with 4 games that he wanted to trade in, we took the trade as we never turn away customers. We took the trade to Gamestop to see what they would offer us. Gamestop: $14.50 we were appalled with this price and how little they were offering for high value items.

We took the same trade and offered Mr. Yui $74.50. The right choice here is a no brainer as one can see the difference. We sent his payment to him quick and easy so he did not have to wait to receive his money.

Stop by and trade video games today!

Names Microsoft Almost called the Xbox One

A list of potential acronym-based names pitched for the original Xbox have been revealed for the first time.

In an interview with Edge, Seamus Blackley has revealed a long list of names that were floated to him and the rest of the console's launch team.
"First, there were our code names, which were WEP – ‘Windows Entertainment Project’ – designed to make Microsoft executives comfortable," he revealed. "Midway – ‘Midway between a PC and a console or ‘Battle of Midway’ – you decide – and DirectX Box, which was shortened to xbox in email very early on.

Phase four was a battle between us and the naming guys, when we decided we just wanted to risk it and go with Xbox.

"When we got the first approval, Kevin [Bachus] was told we had to get a new name, because ‘xbox’ wasn’t legally sound, so against his judgment he did so, and got the phase two, or ‘car’ names. These were so bad we didn’t even save them, but I remember making fun of one of them by calling it the ‘Microsoft Bunduss’. Then we got the ‘acronym’ phase from the naming geniuses.

"Phase four was a battle between us and the naming guys, when we decided we just wanted to risk it and go with Xbox – since that’s what everyone called it anyway – and they wanted, for some unknowable reason, to call it ‘11-X’ or ‘Eleven-X’. Finally, we told them no, but still had to decide: X-Box, xBox, XboX, Xbox, X-box…"

The complete list of suggested names are below and it's safe to say we think Blackley made the right call...
  • MAX (Microsoft Action Experience)
  • AIO (All In One)
  • MIND (Microsoft Interactive Network Device)
  • FACE (Full Action Center)
  • MITH (Microsoft Interactive Theatre)
  • XON (Experience Optimised Network)
  • MVPC (Microsoft Virtual Play Center)
  • TAC (Total Action Center – discs/games could be called TACs)
  • MARC (Microsoft Action Reality Center)
  • LEX (Live Entertainment Experience)
  • M-PAC (Microsoft Play and Action Center)
  • RPM (Real Performance Machine)
  • MOX (Microsoft Optimal Experience)
  • E2 (Extreme Experience)
  • MTG (Microsoft Total Gaming)
  • VIP (Virtual Interactive Player)
  • PTP or P2P (Powered To Play)
  • VIC (Virtual Interactive Center – disks/games could be called VICs)
  • MARZ (Microsoft Active Reality Zone)
  • TSO (Three, Six, Zero)
  • EHQ (Entertainment Headquarters)
  • O2 (Optimal Ozone or Optical Odyssey)
  • MIC (Microsoft Interactive Center)
  • R&R (Reality and Revolution)
  • MEA (Microsoft Entertainment Activator)
  • AMP (Active Microsoft Player)
  • VPS (Virtual Play System)
  • MAP (Microsoft Action Play)
  • MEGA (Microsoft Entertainment & Gaming Attendant or Microsoft Entertainment & Gaming Assembly)
  • CPG (CyberPlayGround)
  • VERV (Virtual Entertainment & Reality Venture)
  • OM (Odyssey of the Mind)
  • P2 (PowerPlay)
  • IS1 (Interactive System In One)
  • MET (Microsoft Entertainment Technology or Microsoft Entertainment Theatre)
Some of these are straight up ridiculous. Some would have just made us all laugh and really make fun of Microsoft. People are a creature of habit and what everyone knows it as is Xbox so they did the right thing by keeping it the same!

Xbox Live Public Beta for new Xbox 360 dashboard and Points replacement opens

Microsoft has thrown open applications for its next Xbox Live beta, giving Xbox 360 gamers the opportunity to have early access to the new Microsoft Points replacement and more. The 2013 Xbox Live Update for Xbox 360 Public Beta will see a trial switch-over to local currency for downloads and purchases, Microsoft’s Major Nelson writes, in addition to performance improvements.

The switch away from Microsoft Points to gamers’ local currencies was announced last month, with the company saying that any existing credit in a player’s account would be converted over to currency “of at least equal value.” The change comes ahead of the new Xbox One, which will go on sale alongside the Xbox 360 rather than directly replacing it.

Membership of the public beta is only open to limited numbers – Microsoft hasn’t said how many will be accommodated – and, for the first time, will be accessed via the Xbox Live dashboard itself. Xbox 360 owners should look out for a new Xbox Beta Program tile on the homescreen.

Initially, any gamer in an Xbox Live market will be able to take part, barring Japan. Those Japanese gamers who want to get involved will have to wait until “a later date”, Major Nelson says. Those in the public beta will also have to sign an NDA, though in previous years those non-disclosure agreements have generally failed to stop details leaking.

Despite the new, next-gen console on the way, Microsoft isn’t giving up on its existing model. The company announced a redesigned version of the Xbox 360 back at E3, and has promised “hundreds of new games” over the next few years.

Female Gamers and how much the industry loves them!

Some gamers often like to say that Female Gamers don't exist or that they don't recognize them as true hardcore gamers. The facts released by the 2013 Entertainment Software Association research shows that 45% of all gamers are women. That percentage stays pretty much the same for the “most frequent video game purchasers,” of which women represent 46%. This number is getting close to being half of the game purchases are done by women gamers.

This is great and should be remembered that video games play a large role in the lives of everyone today. We love our consoles and enjoy the new releases. The upcoming Next-gen consoles Xbox one Vs. PS4 is a much debated console and will truly show where the loyalty lies among gamers. During the E3 Conference there was many types of gamers there that was enjoying the new upcoming releases.

This is just to give you an idea that there are many types of gamers that enjoy playing the games as much as everyone else. The full report can be found here courtesy of The Entertainment Software Association.

As always come visit GameNTrade for all your video game needs, you can buy, sell and trade your games, consoles, accesories, phones, gift cards and more. Have an epic day and keep on gaming!

Xbox One may be dropping the Kinect requirement Bombshell

Would this requirement change the way people are viewing the Xbox One and be happy with it, here is the tweets that highlighted this change and cause a major stir in the online gaming world.

This comes after much scrutiny regarding privacy concerns within Microsoft and the NSA privacy scandal. Concerns that led to bill proposals in the United States (the "We are watching you" act). This concern was thanks to an "always on, always sending data" feature said to be required from the Kinect sensor in relation to the Xbox One. The rumor of its removal came from Jonathan Liedtke, an editor for UWindosor Lance.

BREAKING: @Xbox media relations confirms to me via email that #kinect sensor IS NOT required for #XboxOne. #privacy #drm #prism #microsoft"
He than followed up with this bomb shell:
".@Xbox confirms NO #XboxOne price drop due to NO kinect requirement. #XboxOne is "competitively priced" & xbox is "confident with the value."

Could this mean more people will go back to the Xbox One over the PS4? Only time will tell as the war between these two consoles continues. We will have more as it comes out. keep on gaming.

Hyperkin RetroN 5 Video Gaming System, Charcoal

Have you ever wanted an all in one system that plays all your favorite retro and classic video games. I will admit it is not the same as having the old console to play the games, but if you want to keep your old console in excellent unused shape this could be the system for you! It may not be the best design or look the best but it does the job.

One of the recent inspections of the RetroN 5 was carried out by engadget. Their keen-eyed reporter happened to notice the occasional pop-up appearing above the console's menu system, ones belonging to that of the Android operating system.

This, however, is a good thing. Instead of attempting to perfect each of the promised systems into a single chip (think back to the poor sound playback on that of Mega Drive clones), the inclusion of Android will mean that the system will not only be running on more authentic emulation overall, but it will also allow up-scaling to modern displays and system updates.

Retroware TV were also in attendance of E3 and took some time to record this new hardware in action. There are some downfalls to an all in one sytem but it functions outstanding. I recommend checking this sytem out. The price is very reasonable and cheap, we are going to get a few of these for the website soon.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Let you play as the dog

t's official, your canine companion won't just be another AI squadmate.
There are many things in the new Call of Duty that Infinity Ward would like you to be excited about, but the one getting all of the internet's attention is the now-famous military service dog in your squad. It seems we can stop wondering about what role the little guy will play in the game's campaign - a pre-E3 sneak peak at the single-player campaign of Call of Duty: Ghosts has revealed the dog to be a playable character in certain missions.

Hopefully it's obvious that you won't be strapping an M4 to the hound and sending him off to crouch behind chest-high walls, so the dog sections will involve a shift in gameplay. In real life, the military uses highly-trained dogs in the field as remote reconnaissance, and that's pretty much what you'll be doing in Ghosts. A mounted camera lets soldiers see what the dog sees via a handheld viewfinder, and an earpiece allows the team to give orders from afar. Stealthy situations will call for a more subtle method of instruction, so small vibrations on the dog's collar let teams direct him silently. It seems a little hard to believe, but Infinity Ward says they've done their homework and this is how actual Navy SEAL teams operate with service dogs.

Of course, this is a game, and it's more fun to actually be the dog than it is to hope the animal correctly interprets your commands. In Ghosts, you'll control your canine squadmate just like any other character, attacking hostile soldiers with vicious lunges for the throat. We're talking about man's best friend though, so the dog will also work together with his bipedal squadmates to distract enemies by barking, luring them into your sniper's crosshairs.

It sounds like the dog portions of the game won't be too different from previous games' drone or helicopter segments. There's no word on whether you'll be able to directly control a dog in multiplayer, but if so, I'd gladly trade my grenades for a tactical T-bone steak as a counter.

Microsoft Fails Again to get it straight.

This story is kind of funny if you think about it, yea the guy bought these up hoping Microsoft would some day want them. The funny part is that they decided after the release to even think about getting this domain. Or did they think of the name the day before! More below.

Microsoft has filed a complaint over XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net in hopes of taking control of the domains.

According to Fusible, Microsoft's dispute is filed with the National Arbitration Forum (case number 1501205, currently listed as “pending” on the NAF database), and the company is seeking to acquire the websites from a single UK resident who owns both. The WHOIS info for both domains suggests that they were registered on December 29, 2011 by a Krasimir Hristov Ivanov who resides in London.

Microsoft previously registered a handful of domain names for rumored Xbox codenames including Xbox 8 and Xbox Fusion. It’s worth noting that Microsoft also does not appear to own the Xbox One Twitter account. Stop by our site today and get ready to trade video games, consoles or accessories to get ready for your nextgen consoles!

Will the Xbox One be sold in Japan? Microsoft Works to answer this question!

"Will the next Xbox be sold in Japan?" is a frequently asked question given the 360's enormous failure in the East. It seems that they are still working out details on this launch and are working hard to get some answers about this huge question. They should strive to have bragging rights about being available world wide right?

"I think you'll see some announcements in the not too distant future that I think might delight people," Microsoft's Phil Spencer told IGN. The corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios continued, "To me, heading up studios, it's always been a place where we fine the most creative games in the market." That said, the future of Xbox One and Japan still seems uncertain.

Japan remains "an incredibly rich content development community," Spencer said, "and something we're spending a lot of time with and thinking about -- the Japanese creators, and having them creating content on our box and having that show up to the worldwide audience." There have been some debate about if Xbox games produced in Japan would thrive and be worth seeking the market. Only time will tell and when E3 comes around we will see how interested everyone is in the games that are set to come out with this console.

Remember to visit GameNTrade.com for all your gaming needs, we buy, sell and will trade all video games! We will give you the best price for your used games! We also have drawings for $15 Certificates that can be used for purchase on our site! $15 Free Contest!

Square-Enix president and CEO Mike Fischer has left

Square-Enix president and CEO Mike Fischer has left the Japanese company. After nearly three years with the developer/publisher, Fischer departed for a vice president position at Amazon Japan's Digital Music and Video division.

Following the company's recent revision of its business, president Yoichi Wada stepped down in April. Fischer told Polygon he departed the company amicably.

Fischer previously worked with Microsoft, SEGA, and Namco. What could this mean for the company in the future. Only time will tell!

Super Stardust Spiritual Successor Coming to PlayStation 4

Housemarque has announced it's creating a spiritual successor to the Super Stardust franchise, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

The developer, which has also created titles like Dead Nation and Outland, revealed that while the game didn't have a title as yet, it'd be available exclusively on Sony's next-gen console.
CEO Ilari Kuittinen said, "We are super excited to be working on Sony’s next-gen hardware. The platform’s performances are enabling us to do things that wouldn’t be possible otherwise and we truly believe that better technology can lead to better gameplay. The more tools and resources we have at our disposal, the better.

"Think of Super Stardust HD: at the time, PlayStation 3 gave us the opportunity to populate the game with thousands of interactive objects and implement the game’s famous ‘spherical gameplay’. Today, we can take advantage of the architecture of PlayStation 4 to create incredible visuals with direct impact on the way the new game feels."

The company has also announced its working on a second project, again exclusively for the PS4, No information was released about what the title was or any pictures on either games. More to follow soon I would imagine.
